I am a professor based in Cambridge, MA who has spent many happy weekends in this house with my children and grandchildren. The house is one block from Narragansett Bay, four blocks from the Edgewood Yacht Club, and a longer walk or short drive from Pawtuxet Village and Roger Williams State Park. The first floor has an open plan, with flowing communication between the double living room, entry sitting room, dining room, and kitchen/pantry. The kitchen has high ceilings and exposed beams. The double living room has a music area with piano and an exercise area with Peloton bike. On the second floor are two bedrooms (one with double or queen bed, one with twin beds) and a third room with a single bed that can serve either as an additional bedroom or as a study. There's also an open area with a couch/convertible queen bed and large-screen TV, and another bedroom that's off-limits. On both floors, the rooms have high ceilings, windows on two sides at least, and are filled with light; most have ceiling fans and all have optional portable AC units. Outside, there's a large terrace, equipped with a grill and electric heater, for outdoor cooking, dining and enjoying the sea air. The large garden includes two play structures for kids and a hammock. Limitations: the house dates from the 1890s, with just one full bath, no working fireplaces, small closets, and an unfinished basement (but with a laundry area, a freezer, and usable exercise equipment including a rower). Only the kitchen/pantry, the bathrooms, and the painted walls are nearly new. The furnishings include lots of books and toys. The 2-car garage has one usable space for you; the long driveway easily fits 2 cars side by side and more in tandem. You have the option of renting my new semi-electric car. I hope to find caring and responsible tenants who will adopt my two indoor cats--they are independent, affectionate, and happiest there. I also hope for tenants who will enjoy living in this neighborhood and encountering our friendly neighbors during daily walks along the bay..

Comments: One block from Narragansett Bay, 15 minute drive to Brown University and RISD
Comments: Optional Peloton bike, optional car, just 1.5 baths. Reduced rent if you live with and care for our 2 wonderful indoor cats.
Comments: A 2021 hybrid/electric plug-in Prius, chargeable in the garage, available for you to rent. A friendly neighborhood with lots of young families; a wonderful housekeeper and friend, Donna, will help with any issues that arise while I'm away.
Two healthy and loving cats, aged 11 and 4 years, need company and care in my absence this spring. I am exploring other options for them but prefer them to stay in the house, for reduced rent if you are able to care for them.
almost nothing comes for me at this address, but Donna can attend to anything that does.
Enjoy the perennial flowers and fruits; they are hardy but will need water if there's a drought. If you say for the summer, I recommend the annual tomatoes and herbs sold each May at the Southside Community Trust's Rare and Unusual Plant Sale.
Comments: I love this house and neighborhood and hope to rent to people who will enjoy both.
