Description

I *love* my NYC apartment, but I need to be in LA for work this year while I launch a perfume brand and new body of artwork, so I’m looking for the right person to love my space while I am away. This is one of the best blocks in all of SoHo - between La Duree and the trendy hotel 60 SoHo, across the street from a wine bar and the best Sicilian restaurant in New York. Steps from all the main train lines. The location can't be beat! This neighborhood is the old stomping grounds of countless creative legends--from Edna St Vincent Millay to David Bowie--and it remains one of the most chic and charming corners in all of New York City. Retreat from the bustle and verve of downtown Manhattan and come home to this oasis of comfort and calm. It's the perfect place to unwind, work, rest, stay inspired, entertain, and fall in love with inspired living! This flat has some rare features for a downtown walk-up including a dishwasher, walk-in closet, bath tub, and eat-in kitchen. I also put lots of artist TLC into the furniture and decor, some of which I custom-built for the space with the help of architect and designer friends. There’s an Eames chair in the living room and a custom divan styled after Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water. The red lacquer coffee table is styled after Isamu Noguchi’s iconic glass version. The last photo is an original artist proof of one of my neon light drawing editions based on experimental drawings I make with my hair. Chandeliers in all three rooms invite the feeling of true opulence! The west facing living room windows get tons of natural light during the day, and the various lamps and pink neon sculpture give a happy glow in the evening. Hardwood floors, Italian marble tiles, and sheepskin rugs offer a feeling of head-to-toe luxury. I've also included soft lamps in every room to lend a peaceful glow. You'll also find a cozy a velvet chaise for reading or journaling in the bedroom, which friends have called "The Quietest Bedroom in All of New York." With blackout curtains and its own separate AC unit, this bedroom offers a better night's sleep than the countryside! I have left organic high-thread count sheets (two sets) for you as well as organic high thread count cotton towels. The kitchen has a soda stream, chef’s knives, modern appliances, and tons of wine books from when I studied for my Level 4 Diploma. Feel free to read and enjoy them while you are here! I cleared out most of my belongings, so there is plenty of room in the closet, cabinets, and drawers for you to settle in and enjoy the space as your own. (The walk-in closet has just a few garment bags on the side, and I left some suitcases under the bed, but the apartment is otherwise empty and ready for you and your things.) The divan in the living room also has an extra foam topper and luxury bedding for you to host guests--it is so comfortable I have trouble getting people to leave : ) Should you crave a home workout, there's a water rower, yoga mat, and free weights in the living room closet. You are also located steps from gyms and some of the best yoga and pilates you can find, as well as basketball courts and Hudson Park, which is great for picnicking and jogging. I love hosting guests and will help you feel at home however I can during your stay.

House Sitting

I am looking for help while I am away

I would like help with mail and deliveries

Would love if you could bring in the mail once per week.

I would like help with plants or garden

There are a few snake plants around - they are quite resilient, but half a cup of water once a week would keep them extra happy.
