This farmhouse-style cottage is rustic and comfortable. What it lacks in brand-new interiors it makes up for in privacy, character, space, natural light, and views. Firefly Fiber Broadband provides excellent Internet service. Outside, there is a furnished front porch and a backyard with a deck. Inside, the living room boasts a reclaimed hardwood floor, a gas fireplace, leather sofas, a dining area, and a bookshelf stocked with hardbacks by local author John Grisham and other writers. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, and there's a full-sized bed and a large-screen television in the loft. The TV has been outfitted with a Roku deviceso that guests can use their streaming service accounts. A downstairs bathroom offers a clawfoot bathtub, and the upstairs bathroom features a shower. The full-sized kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, coffee pot, and electric kettle as well as dishes, drinking vessels, utensils, cookware, etc. The yard is great for dogs, and a large crate, bedding, and dishes are available for them. (The yard is not completely fenced in, so plan to stay outside with your pet.) A train track lies near the back of the property, so earplugs are provided. Note: This is a country home, so guests should not be surprised to see bugs and/or critters. For guests seeking more of a pristine hotel- or Airbnb-type experience, this North Garden cottage might not be the best fit. This safe, quiet, pastoral country setting is an easy, lovely, short drive to Charlottesville. Across the road are the rolling acres of a former dairy farm. Hawks swoop above, casting their shadows on the hillside. Chickens are in the neighbor's yard, and a train runs nearby. Five minutes down the road is one of the best pizza joints in central Virginia (Dr. Ho's Humble Pie) as well as a gas station/market that sells breakfast sandwiches, fried chicken, burgers, coffee, and many treats and necessities. Wineries, cideries, and breweries are all nearby as well.
