Our Home Recently remodeled three-bedroom, 90+m2 (1000 sq feet) apartment located in the heart of Barcelona's artsy Gracia neighborhood. Short walk to two subway lines, AC, heat, washer, dishwasher, good security, elevator, wheelchair accessible, Wifi, phone, and sound system. As it's high up on the 6th floor, there's no street noise whatsoever. The apartment is furnished, but will not be full of personal items (except for. books) as shown in the photos. The living/dining room opens onto a breezy terrace with views of the city (you can see the ocean too). There's a queen sized bed in the main bedroom, a single bed in the second bedroom (which has a small balcony), and another room with tons of closet space. There's a new sofa in the living room that unfolds into a bed for guests. The kitchen has been recently remodeled and features an induction stovetop, new fridge, etc. There's a separate utility room (not pictured) with the washing machine, a utility sink, and storage. Clothes dry quickly on the outdoor clothesline on the breezy balcony off the second bedroom. We have a terrific cleaning lady who also cooks excellent Spanish food, she can come along with the place if desired. Our Neighborhood This is the heart of Gracia, known for its bars, cafes, plazas, restaurants, shops and galleries. The city of Barcelona slopes from the Collserola foothills down the to the sea. This apartment is located pretty far up the hill, which means its a bit cooler than the center and, as it's on the 6th floor, you get nice breezes. The foothills begin about 1km (half mile or so) further up from us. Public transit in Barcelona is very good. We are a short walk to both the Fontana and Lesseps stations on the green line (L3). Dead center Barcelona (Plaza Catalunya) is 10 minutes on the metro, on the same line. The Joanic station on the yellow line (L4) is also a short walk away and provides quick access to the beach. Buses abound- the neighborhood bus (Bus del Barri) stops at the corner. Two blocks up the hill gets you to the arterial Travessera de Dalt, with multiple bus lines, and Plaza Lesseps. Gaudi's Parc Güell is a 15 minute walk. There is a good-sized Sorli Discau supermarket directly across the street, bakeries on Travessera, a great library (Jaume Fuster) nearby at Plaza Lesseps, and two art house movie theaters (Verdi and Verdi Park) a short walk away. About Us I am from Barcelona and my husband is from the US. We're currently living in New York and teaching at K-12 schools there. Our two daughters both attended schools in Barcelona until 2013. We were involved in the local schools then and have stayed in touch, so we can help if you're coming with kids and need help figuring out school options. We're also versed in dealing with residency paperwork, etc, and happy to help navigate the local bureaucracy.

Comments: Sunny rooftop apartment in the lively, artsy, charismatic neighborhood of Gracia. As it's at the top of the building, the apartment is very quiet. Near parks, two metro lines, tons of great restaurants and shops, with a supermarket across the street.
