Our cozy, bright home is situated in a quiet neighbourhood close to historic Highlands' shops and restaurants, and just 4 blocks away from Edmonton's river valley. The house is a 10 minute walk to Concordia University of Edmonton, and is close to bus routes and the LRT line that goes directly downtown and to the University of Alberta. There is a public indoor pool and curling rink half a block away, and a public library and schools nearby. The house has one main floor bedroom and an office (which could be converted into a second bedroom), and a combined living and dining room with lots of bright, natural light and hardwood flooring throughout. The kitchen will be renovated this summer and has all of the appliances and utensils you will need. The main bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the adjacent bathroom has a full bath and shower. There is a washer and dryer in the basement, as well as access to a treadmill and a second office space, if one is needed. The backyard has a large brick patio that is ideal for enjoying a meal or relaxing on sunny days. The fenced yard is surrounded by flowers, herb and vegetable gardens and is a quiet space to enjoy watching the many birds that frequent the feeders and bird bath. There is also a single car garage that will be available for renters to use. We would consider allowing renters to use our 2 bicycles as there are river valley bike trails that you can ride all the way to the University of Alberta (and beyond) without needing to go on any busy roads. There will be vegetables and berries to harvest in the fall, and in return we would appreciate prospective renters who enjoy gardening and are willing to look after our gardens and indoor plants. We are looking for an academic couple or graduate student that will ideally stay for the full academic year - September 2024 to May 2025 (but at minimum from September to December). We are somewhat flexible with our start and end dates. We would consider renting to people who have a quiet, well-behaved dog (or a house cat); our fenced yard is ideal for dogs and we are close to many parks and miles of walking trails in the river valley.
