Visit Paris this summer in a spacious, sunny Belle Époque apartment with all modern conveniences. You'll be located at the juncture of the river Seine and the Canal St Martin, looking out on the Port de Plaisance (Paris marina), close to two gares (de Lyon & Austerlitz), six Métro lines (1, 5, 7, 8, 10, 14) and three RER lines. With one street leading to the night life of the Bastille, the charm of the Place des Vosges and the hip atmosphere of the Marais, the other to the elegant Ile Saint Louis and Notre Dame Cathedral, you will have Paris at your feet ... and an extremely comfortable place in which to put those feet up at the end of the day. We've renovated this 1000 sq. ft. apartment to provide all modern comforts, while keeping the 19th-century charm of the mouldings, wainscoting, and original parquet floors. Our tenant/guests keep coming back because they appreciate the apartment's spaciousness and light, and the feeling of being "chez soi". The kitchen is a "good cook's kitchen," with every implement you might want (including a cocotte [pressure cooker], a friteuse [deep fryer] a Doufeu [Le Creuset 'dutch oven'], as well as a food processor, a hand-held blender, a mandoline....). In addition to the new stove and dishwasher, the apartment boasts the largest clothes washer and (separate) clothes dryer available for sale in France. Sleeping spaces: The apartment has two bedrooms whose windows give onto an extremely quiet, private garden belonging to the few residents in the building. The "chambre bleue" has a 160-cm wide bed, and the "chambre verte," a 140-cm wide bed. This means that the apartment is suitable long-term for three adults maximum, or for a couple with one child (or possibly two very young children). Your guests could make use of the sofabed in the salon. Equipment: WiFi, Sonos, iHome, Smart TV, and landline. Calls to the US, Canada, and Europe are free. [The sunset photo was taken from the front windows, looking out over the marina (Port de Plaisance) and the lock (Pont Morland) that connects the Seine to the Canal St Martin.] The apartment is on the 1st floor (U.S. "2nd floor".) of a building secured by a digicode and a security camera. The recently renovated elevator is useful for suitcases, the shopping caddy, and occasionally for legs a bit sore from walking all over Paris.
