Our fully furnished family- and dog-friendly home is available while we are away for the 2024-25 academic year. It's a recently renovated Cape Cod-style house at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The main floor includes a bright open kitchen with adjacent sitting area, living room, study/guest bedroom with comfortable sofa bed, full bathroom, screened porch (a perfect warm-weather office!), and deck with gas grill. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms (one quite small) and a full bathroom. The basement includes a furnished office/playroom (with desk, sofa, television, digital piano), laundry/pantry (with refrigerator), and a storage room that opens to the driveway and provides ample room for sporting equipment, bikes, tools, and seasonal clothing. We overlook a small brook and have added lots of native plants that attract many kinds of birds and pollinators. The house backs up to 64 acres of conservation land with walking trails through a meadow and woods, playing fields, a sledding hill, and (slightly dilapidated) tennis courts. There is an excellent public elementary school (K-5) with 2 playgrounds adjacent to the playing fields. Off-leash dog walking is allowed on the trails (the dog walking community is lovely!), and dogs gather on the field throughout the day. We can leave bikes/scooters/sleds/snowshoes for your use if you'd like. A local market, pharmacy, cafe, and the Fells branch of the Wellesley Free Library are under a mile away. Downtown Wellesley, Linden Square, Morses Pond, Wellesley College, and Regis College are about 2 miles away. Babson College, Olin College, and downtown Weston are about 4 miles away, and Brandeis University is about 6 miles away. Downtown Boston is 25-30 minutes with no traffic. Wellesley has 3 commuter rail stations, and 2 green T line stops are a 10-15 minute drive in Newton. The house was built in 1941 so it's compact and has plenty of quirks, but it's a peaceful, comfortable space that we hope you'll enjoy as much as we do.

Comments: The house backs up to conservation land with walking trails, playing fields, a sledding hill, and tennis courts. An excellent K-5 school and 2 playgrounds are across the fields. It's perfect for nature lovers, dog lovers, and families.
Comments: We sadly can't take our sweet, medium-sized, 5-year-old mixed breed dog on sabbatical with us, and would offer a reduction in rent to a dog-loving person/family who would care for her while we are away.
Comments: The basement can be used as an office or a playroom. We have two cars that we would be willing to either lease to you or relocate for the year.
We have a sweet 5-year-old, medium-sized, mixed breed dog who loves walks in the woods behind the house and otherwise lazes in the yard or inside.
We don't expect much mail or many deliveries, but we'd be grateful if you can help handle an occasional envelope or package.
We're happy to leave our houseplants if you can care for them. The garden plants are relatively low maintenance, but those who love to garden would be welcome to do so!
