This fully renovated, sunny 2 bed/1 ba apartment in a single family home is a great home base for exploring both France and Spain. Narbonne and Girona are an hour away. Barcelona is 2 hours away and is your closest international airport. Costs are very reasonable here and the food is fantastic! The charming village of Maureillas-las-Illas, is near Cèret, a wonderful town known for arts, music, culture and a fabulous market. There is always something going on in the village or in the towns within 10 minutes drive. Lots of English speakers and other cultural groups in the village and nearby and the city of Perpignan is about 30-40 minutes away. My village is 10 minutes from Spain and 30 minutes to the beaches. Beautiful mountains and hills to walk in and bike trails all over, all the way to the beach or into the mountains. Hikes abound too and the cooler mountains are only an hour or so away in Spain and France. I am looking for a couple (or up to 4--but furnishings aren't very kid friendly) for my upstairs (1st) floor apartment in house with a garden. Two bedrooms, 1 bath (1 other bedroom will be closed off for my personal belongings). Central air and completely renovated. The village is generally very quiet and a great place for contemplation, writing, thinking, or researching while you enjoy the multiple balconies around the apartment. Mountain views abound right from the balconies and hiking trails start right from the village. There is live music at the village bar during your stay or in nearby Céret and always something happening in summer all around the area. A perfect getaway! The co-owner lives downstairs and is available to help with any questions. All amenities are provided. Just come with your clothes and toothbrush!
