Our family-friendly home in a beautiful cohousing community outside of Seattle is available to rent for a one year lease, starting July 15, 2024. Custom-built with plentiful, large windows and skylights, this home is perfect for people who want to live in the secluded beauty of a PNW forest while still having access to the neighborhood-y conveniences and connections of a tight-knit multigenerational community. Location: Our house is ideally located for both work and play, a 35-45 minute drive from Seattle, 30 minutes from Microsoft, 20 minutes from UW Bothell, and just over an hour from Stevens Pass and the Cascades. We are in unincorporated Snohomish county, between Woodinville and Monroe, just off Hwy 522 on the Echo Lake Rd exit. Capacity: There are three bedrooms on the top floor, including a primary bedroom with built in closet and storage space, a second bedroom with a loft for adventures and imagination (or storage), and a third bedroom with built-in shelving and storage. The primary bathroom includes a soaker tub, and the other full bathroom has a shower. A half bath is attached to a full laundry room on the first floor. The kitchen, dining, and living room are open plan with vaulted ceilings and skylights as well as a large side deck facing into the land trust that surrounds our community, perfect for summer evening dinners al fresco. The lower level features a more private sitting room with wood stove and attached art/study space, as well as access to a second, smaller outdoor deck. Amenities: Wide plank wood floors throughout, with high quality appliances including a high-end gas range and Bosch dishwasher. Two decks and use of a gas grill. Electric, gas, internet, waste management, and water utilities are included, as are HOA fees! Two dedicated parking spots in a common parking area; EV charging available upon request. Pets negotiable. As members of a cohousing community, residents also have access to an abundance of shared amenities, which include: a 23-acre forested greenbelt with trails, campground, and a stream; playgrounds and a playfield; productive community gardens and fruit trees; and a community center called the Common House, which can be used for shared meals and social events, and which also has a library and well-stocked pantry with kitchen staples for sale. Residents contribute to the community by serving on volunteer teams, including the garden team, recycling and sustainability team, dinner team, social team, and children’s team. Each adult resident contributes to one “core” team and one community life team. To learn more about our community, please visit: http://www.sharingwood.net.
