One Bedroom top floor view suite in Point Grey Village, near UBC, with fast access to downtown, AVAILABLE for the duration of, or BY THE WEEK (or minimum 5 nights), from now until May 24th; and available by the week, also during JULY 19th until the end of August 2013. THEREAFTER AVAILABLE BY THE MONTH AS AT SEPT 1ST OR OCTOBER 1ST (or perhaps a monthly rental can begin earlier, depending on current bookings when you ask). Otherwise, 5 night min stay policy applies and weekly rentals are preferred for the summer months. Rates as advertised below or on our web site ubcrental.com.

This is a self-catering, fully furnished and fully equipped vacation rental suite which is rented longer term (monthly), as well as short term/WEEKLY (two different rates apply and for monthly rates a minimum 3 month stay is required, however we will discount the weekly rate for anyone staying more than 3 weeks).
Perfect for short vacation stays or for the Academic semester or for sabbatical stays. Deluxe new one bedroom, one bathroom, 705 square foot (plus balcony), incredible views, fully furnished & fully equipped, self-catering suite ideally located, in the heart of the Point Grey Village, and less than 5 minutes to UBC, on the quiet north side of the building on the 4th floor of a new, high quality, concrete 4 floor building with fabulous views of the north shore mountains, the sea, the harbour & the city. A great balcony for lounging and al fresco dining. Perfect location for watching the fireworks in the summer (Symphony of fire, and July 1st Canada Day Celebrations). Very near UBC campus, with fast access to everywhere via express bus, from the next block, or save transportation costs and walk, cylce, or rollerblade -- this is the perfect community for all 3! Out your front door you will enjoy the city's best beaches, best parks, boutique shopping, fine dining and every imaginable service, and minutes away, access the wonderful gardens and amenities at UBC in minutes (eg. the Museum of Anthropology, the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, the new Olympic Hockey venues, the swimming pools, tennis courts, etc. etc. The suite has top of the line European appliances, a Bertazoni Gas Range, Bloomberg dishwasher, granite countertops, Queen bed in the bedroom, great north facing balcony, Vermont Castings Gas Fireplace, mulit-channel, flat screen TV/DVD, in suite laundry, hardwood floors. Cablevision and wireless high speed internet. Quiet side of the building, in a quiet neighbourhood, 2 blocks from the nearest park. In fact, in this suite one mainly experiences silence! This suite has everything (dishes, linens, towels, the cork screw, everything!) No Smoking, no pets. Cozy window seat and TV /DVD. The building/suite is only 4 years old.

Monthly rate of $2275 appiles to minimum 3 month stays. Some utilities (e.g. fireplace heating) are included and some are extra (electricity & cable/internet). We spent one week during the 2010 Olympics. This setting was perfect for a couple and we really enjoyed the environment and our stay. The L-shapped living room is impressive as is the kitchen and it is equipped with all you need for gourmet cooking and from all places in these rooms there are impressive views. But for us the greatest enjoyment came from the covered balcony with the amazing views of the city, the water, and the mountains, as well as some very special visitors, the hummingbirds which apparently visit the feeders year round. The balcony is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the amazing outlook, whether it is raining, snowing, or sunny, and during the day or at night. From this location, you can use the express buses, or car, or cycle, to easily visit the best and most quiet places in Vancouver, like the majestic Pacific Spirit Park. Just spectacular. We stay in the apartment http://www.sabbaticalhomes.com/36353 on 2010. This is an excellent apartment for a couple, with an amazing view of the mountains in a quiet enviroment. The gas fireplace is excellent to relax in the living room in a winter evening. It has also good comunication with Vancouver downtown and UBC through public transportation. I am associate professor at Nice-Sophia Antipolis University. I have spent one year in Vancouver for a sabbatical, working at the Pacific Institute for Mathematical Science at UBC. My partner and I rented the apartment listed at http://sabbaticalhomes.com/36353 through SabbaticalHomes from August 2010 to August 2011 and I cannot say the landlady was a nice person.

Sabbaticalhomes.com has edited out the long list of complaints because it was perceived as being too libellous.
