This is an attractive home in the seaside village of Scarborough, a safe and quiet retreat that is part of the Cape Town Metropolitan area.

There are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, along with a spacious lounge/living area with a panoramic view of the Atlantic ocean. Downstairs is another bathroom with a shower, and fully tiled living and dining area. Large doors open out to a beautiful patio and pool area. The pool is just the right size to cool off in after a visit to the beach. An outdoor barbecue area is available for cooking poolside meals and entertaining.

Kitchen is spacious and fully equipped.

The house is clean and comfortable, a perfect beach retreat where you can relax and not worry. The property is secure and private, and there is an easy to use security system-- though Scarborough is generally very safe. A garage protects your car from the sun and sea air.

The home is available for rental from April 1, 2011 for a lease of at least 1 month. Rental periods of more than one month are greatly discounted.
The rental price includes a weekly pool service. Electricity is separate and for your account.

The village of Scarborough near Cape Town is extremely unique. It's not that far from the fantastic city center, yet is a wonderful, quiet community right by the beach.

The community and immediate area offer beaches frequented by surfers, kite surfers, and windsurfers. You'll also find divers and happy families seeking a more pristine and less crowded beach than elsewhere in the Cape Peninsula. The property is minutes away from other great attractions, such as the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point nature reserve. You can also make the easy drive to Boulder's Beach in Simonstown (a penguin nesting area and public swimming beach--imagine, swimming in the summer sun with penguins!), ostrich farms, rock climbing and bouldering, and more. The village is often frequented by baboons, and for observant eyes, ocean is a fantastic place to spot dolphins and even the occasional whale. Cyclists and joggers love it here.

There is a bus that services the village, but you are better off with a car so that you have the flexibility to visit all the great places around here.
A modern and clean shopping mall and supermarket are an easy 15 minutes drive away (a lovely drive with great coastal views), and there are restaurants, craft shops and more.

Our furnished home rents for US $1500 per month, with a minimum of one month stay at this discounted rate. Dec- Jan peak season rental is US $700 per week, with a minimum of one week rental.

Further discounts for multiple months and winter months (June-August) are available. Rental includes all utilities except electricity. Weekly pool service is included. We will consider off-peak exchanges as well, within South Africa, or in California.
