Bright, spacious 2-bedroom, old World Charm, just minutes to Midtown, New York (NYC)

Beautiful, spacious (over 1300 square feet) apartment with views of the Empire State Building & Riverside Church from the living room and dining room on the top floor of a beautiful, quiet, landmark, elevator building in the Hamilton Grange historic district.

Kitchen remodeled this year with stainless steel appliances, a French-door fridge (with filtered ice-cubes. through the door), quartz countertops, instant hot filtered water and a small (18”) Miele dishwasher (no garbage disposal, alas). Lots of nice little things like a soda stream, and a small cuisinart with a juicer attachment.

Living room and dining room are huge, with Persian carpets (and Turkish carpets in the foyer and each of the two bedrooms). There is a large-screen TV with a DVD player and a Wii (and a balance board).

The smaller bedroom has a full-size bed. You will have 1 chest of drawers and 1 closet (I will leave things on the closet shelves above the clothes rod) and both night-stands. This is my bedroom so there is more stuff in this room, and it feels more like it belongs to someone.

The larger bedroom has a king-size mattress, and a HUGE closet (over 5 feet long) with 2 shelves above. You will have at least one (hopefully 2) chest of drawers and the closet shelves. (The other closet will have stuff in it, but this room has belonged to a roommate, so there’s not much personal stuff here.)

The apartment is fully furnished and includes 2 sweet cats, short-haired, tabby. Friendly, occasionally needy. I would ask that you check the litter box, food and water twice a week.

Terrific location--about 15 minutes from midtown (2 stops from Columbus Circle).

It is a beautiful, landmark building down the street from where they filmed The Royal Tanenbaums, if you want a sense of the gorgeous neighborhood (which Time Out New York named the 5th best residential block in New York City).

This is a steal for Manhattan. I expect whoever is here to take good care of the cats (and the apartment). They are much loved. I would really prefer someone who likes cats. (I also expect that you will take good care of the apartment. Please take shoes off in the apartment and vacuum the rugs at least every other week. Don’t let dirt build up. Please treat my home as well as you would your own.) If you are away for awhile while you are here, I will get someone to look after the cats while you’re gone--just let me know the dates.

I will probably come by during one day in January to change suitcases. I'll let you know in advance.
