Beautiful Fully-furnished Mid-Century Modern in San Diego Beach Community
We live in the North Pacific Beach area of San Diego (also known as La Jolla Sur because it's 3 blocks from the La Jolla Border) Our home is a fully-furnished, updated, mid-century modern bungalow (1959) designed by architect Fred E. Norris, with vaulted, natural cedar ceilngs, lots of light, and a wonderful indoor/outdoor feel. We are only 8 blocks from beautiful beaches, but far enough to avoid the crowds and metered parking madness. House is 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, with an additional designated "office" room. The master bedroom has a queen bed, and the guest bedroom has an Italian queen-sized sleeper/sofa. House has wireless internet. A piano. Peaceful private yard, as well as patio side yard off the master bedroom. Although the house is all one level, there are a number of steps to our property, so it would not be suitable if you had difficulty walking or climbing. Our house is not baby or toddler proof (no latches on cupboards, etc) The neighborhood, is a safe, family oriented beach community. We are at the foot of Mt. Soledad, which means, if you drive to the top of the hill and down again (5 minutes) you will be at the world famous Windansea Beach in La Jolla. All of the great attractions of San Diego are within a 5 to 20 minute drive from the house. (UCSD, Beaches, La Jolla Museum of Modern Art, Restaurants and shopping, Sea World, Zoo, Balboa Park, Convention Center, Harbors, Birch Aquarium, Torrey Pines). There are wonderful hiking and biking trails nearby. We have a Trader Joes, and Wild Oats market in PB, farmer's market, and many neighborhood eateries--everything from good Thai, Spanish tapas, fresh sushi carry-out, to world-class restaurants. There's an excellent fresh-fish market just a few blocks away. San Diego is not the most pedestrian oriented town, and you really need a car or transportation to get around if you leave the beach neighborhood. However, we are only about 3 blocks from public transportation to UCSD, or S. to the Old Town transit hub, where you can catch the Amtrak train to Los Angeles, or Coaster, to beach towns North. (as well as other attractions throughout the city). No smoking in or on the property. No pets. We respectfully request NO perfumed fabric softeners on bedding or towels. Garage is NOT included, but there is off-street parking. Just bring your suitcase and unpack. See photos below. Note* Last pic is a typical La Jolla beach scene (not a view from our home) although we have partial ocean views from property. There are numerous lovely beaches in the area and all up an down the San Diego Coast within minutes from our house. Others have described our house as a peaceful zen-like retreat in the middle of a bustling city! The house itself is approximately 1500 sq ft on a lot that approx 7800 sq ft.
