Vintage Ukrainian Village Apartment with the beauty of original 1914 built ins and style of 2012 ecological rehab
A top (3rd) floor apartment in a historic Chicago brownstone with dazzling original woodwork from 1914 and new bathrooms, kitchen, heat/air conditioning. The apartment has three bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, two baths (one with shower and one with Jacuzzi bath), washer/dryer, enclosed porch, garage space, and backyard with garden. The apartment is located in the vibrant Wicker Park/Ukrainian Village neighborhood with shops, restaurants, cafes, and an independent video store three blocks away. The street is a tree-lined, historic preservation neighborhood in Chicago. One room is set up for a child or children, but all children’s things can be removed upon subleaser’s request in order to use the room for other purposes. The apartment is flooded with light and has beautiful views of the neighborhood.
The apartment is right on the Division and Chicago bus lines that go directly to the Newberry Library. Two Blue Line “L” stops can be reached with a short walk or bus connection. The Blue Line goes directly to the UIC campus.
I am a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a sabbatical semester at the University of Cambridge. My study has a printer, fax, and couch that folds into an extra bed. There is wireless internet, a land line, and cable television.
