STONY CREEK: large home in historic oceanside village close to Yale with piano

2,400 sq. ft of bright, friendly living space. 2 offices, 3-4 bedrooms, open kitchen & dining room area with Stony Creek granite counter tops, adjacent there is a library/play room and a large living room. 2 & 1/2 baths. High ceilings, wood floors. The structure is an 1850's "salt box" style house, beautifully renovated and expanded.

Will be rented furnished with a baby grand piano in the living room.

It has a typical New England yard with stone walls and no fences. Quiet dead end street on a little hill, some winter water view. We include the services of landscapers and a handyman for general maintenance.

It is a 3-4 minute walk to the town beach and boat launch. There are salt marshes, trails and public land all around. Also caves, lakes, streams, rivers and interesting rock formations. Kayak to your heart's content!

There are several places to eat in the village, a post office, the Stony Creek Puppet Theater, 2 playgrounds and the Willoughby Wallace Public Library just steps away, offering children's programs, Yoga, Pilates as well as other events.

Stony Creek is breathtakingly beautiful, situated between the town greens of Branford and Guilford.The famous Thimble Islands make this location very special. Living here feels like being on vacation year-round.

The local public schools are Tisko Elementary school, Walsh Middle School and Branford High school, all with good reputations.

Stony Creek is located north of New Haven on Long Island Sound. 8 miles or 15 minutes to Yale University and New Haven on I-95. 1 1/2 hours to NYC, 2 hours to Boston. A commuter train goes to New Haven (Shoreline East) from Branford.

We rented this house for a year, two adults and three kids age 5, 8 and 13. What a wonderful house in a wonderful neighborhood! People around here are so friendly and welcoming. Close to the beach and the historic and beautiful Thimble Islands, conveniently located in relation to Yale, Shoreline Railroad and I-95, and with good public schools. There is also a public library, a playground and a nice café only a few hundred yards away. The owners are very friendly and easy to communicate with. We stumbled across this house when it was advertised on the net and we can hardly believe we were so fortunate. We wholeheartedly recommend this house. Excellent Hans Butenschon 1/20/2011 11:31:00 AM
