Beautiful pre-war apartment in Columbia University building
The apartment is about 1300 sq.ft., which is very big by New York City standards. It is a pre-war unit so has molding and very high ceilings (at least 12ft.). It has 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, a living room and dining room separated by French doors. The kitchen is a gallery kitchen but big and spacious. There is a small room off the kitchen that will be used for storage.
The building is owned and maintained by Columbia University. There is a doorman 24/7. There is a nice 24 hour grocery story in the building that can be reached through an elevator -- a major plus during winter months. We are near many gorgeous parks with Riverside Park 3 blocks to the West and with Morningside Park at the end of our block to the East. Central Park is just at the bottom of Morningside Park. Columbia campus is across the street from us and provides another green oasis.
This is a very safe neighborhood near landmarks like Saint John's Cathedral, Grant's Tomb, and Riverside Church. There are many restaurants and stores around the campus and several easily accessible trains (1,A,B,C,D).
The apartment is available for the following dates:
May 21, 2013 -- June 20, 2013
The unit is occupied outside of these dates.
The rent is extremely low by NYC standards in exchange for caring for our two cats.
