About Angela has a Ph.D. in Italian Medieval Studies with a strong Renaissance background. Professionally she has taught at Georgetown Univ. and George Washington Univ; her higher education administration was in fundraising. Angela now is retired, teaches as an adjunct and founded CulturalStudyAbroad.com a nonprofit educational travel company. Her volunteer work includes raising travel/study funds for underprivileged DC HS students. Students have gone to Paris and to Rome so far. She has lived and taught in China, Italy, and France. This is a beautiful, lovingly maintained townhouse in the Georgetown University area and conveniently situated within a four to five minute walk to a major grocery store, excellent restaurants and local public buses. Despite being in a University area, my family of three had no issues with noise or any other typical college-life issues. Angela is a wonderfully gracious landlady and will be sure to be receptive to your specific needs. My family of four had a terrific month in this townhouse. The owner was very personable and fair in her dealings with us; the house was in good shape and, while small for a family with 2 kids, a pleasant place to hang out in. The home is not in Georgetown per se but in Burleith, a more recently (early-20th-c.) developed neighborhood just to the north. Drawbacks: a little further out, less historic character; advantages: less crowded, better parking, more down-to-earth people and businesses.
