The west-facing apartment is 410 sq. foot (38 sq. metres) on the 3rd floor of a well maintained building with an elevator. The light-filled bedroom has a queen-sized double bed, wardrobe and a desk with chair (linens and towels provided) and has hardwood floors. The good-sized sitting-room has a 3-person sofa (converts to a queen-sized bed) plus a dining table with 4 chairs. The bathroom has a new modern enclosed shower. There is a TV and DVD player, stereo, and high-speed internet (WiFi) and telephone. The kitchen is separate from the sitting-room and is fully-equipped: ceramic hob, combination oven-microwave, large fridge/freezer, clothes washer/dryer, coffee maker, cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery & glassware. There is a separate toilet off the entrance hallway. There is also a private storage unit in the basement. The apartment has been recently painted and furnished and has a modern, contemporary feel.
The apartment is ideally situated being close to the greenery of Bois de Vincennes (15 mins walk) and steps from the Promenade Plantee (5 mins) yet having all amenities available on your doorstep. The neighbourhood is filled with many locally-owned businesses, including an excellent bakery (50 metres), butcher, supermarkets (open sunday morning too) and numerous bistros and restaurants. It is only 15 minutes by foot to Bercy Village. There are 2 excellent nearby open-air markets: Daumesnil (Tuesdays and Friday mornings); Poniatowski (Thursday and Sunday mornings). There is a public swimming pool (Reuilly) 12 minutes away by foot. The area is non-touristy, yet is central enough that you are never far from sights, museums, parks, movie theatres etc.
Public transportation connections are excellent for both the Right and Left bank. Close to Metro lines 6 and 8, and several bus routes (29 and 64 in particular) it is only a 10 minute ride by Metro or Bus to the Bibliotheque Francois Mitterrand. There are also several Velib bike stations within 5 minutes of the apartment.
The price is 1550 euros / month (includes all utilities and charges: electricity, hot water, telephone, internet and taxe d'habitation). We prefer 6 month + lease. The apartment is non-smoking and pets are not allowed. There is a 100 euro cleaning fee at the end of the lease.
