Large apartment (2 bedrooms, one used as study) in Central London near Hyde Park
Our home in Central London across the road from Kensington Gardens (part of Hyde Park) is available for short term rentals, usually for one to three weeks, sometimes for longer term, one month or two months. For availability during concrete periods of time, please respond to this ad, as it changes very quickly. The apartment is near several tube stations (the closest two, Queensway and Bayswater, are just one minute away on foot; and Notting Hill Gate, Royal Oak, Lancaster Gate, and Paddington are fairly close, all under ten minutes walk). The apartment is in a well maintained large red brick mansion block with two lifts and 24 hour porterage. The apartment is on the 3d floor (US 4th), with all the windows looking into the courtyard (hence it is very quiet, though the location is very central and bustling with activity). There are two large bedrooms, a very large living room, a brand new separate fully equipped kitchen with all new machines, and a brand new bathroom. There are original wood floors in all the rooms. We use one of the bedrooms as an office, though it does have a bed as well. The refurbishment was finished at the end of November 2012, quite recently. The flat has everything you may need away from home, from pots & pans to bedsheets, dishes, TV, and wireless broadband. The location is very convenient. In addition to the excellent transportation links, the grocery store (Sainsbury's) is in the next building; and Marks & Spencer and Waitrose are about five minutes away; numerous restaurants (from Cafe Anglais, one of the top ten in London, to inexpensive ethnic places) are in the same or next block. The Imperial College London is on the other side of Hyde Park (a pleasant walk when the weather is good) as is Harrods, and Oxford Street is about the same distance East along Hyde Park edge. For the UCL and British Library, the direct tube line from Royal Oak or Bayswater will take you there in five minutes. Central Line (n the same building essentilly) takes you to the British Museum. Paddington is a walking distance for Heathrow Express (15 minutes to Heathrow), and Eurostar terminal at St. Pancrass is less than 10 minutes by metro, again, on a direct line to Kings Cross. Portobello Market is an easy walking distance. Regents Park is still a walking distance, though 30 minutes away. There are numerous garden squares witin five minutes or less.
