This dramatic, yet comfortable 3 or, 4 bedroom (plus loft)/3 bath coastal home (3860 sq ft) has an open layout and is filled with beautiful wooden furniture (rustic redwood, rosewood, cherry, and barnwood pieces) and local artwork. The large 30X15 sq ft living room has a fun "fire pit" that is also the plasma TV viewing area. The window wall spans the width of the room and looks out onto a gracious entertaining deck, green lawns, and Mediterranean gardens.

Above it all, is a light-filled work loft with skylights over the desk and bookcases. This could easily be reconfigured as an artist's loft, play area, or reading space. For those interested in a longer term rental or writing, there is also a large dedicated office that was built for my husband while he was writing his textbook.

The house is a great family home, with indoor/outdoor living and an elementary school within walking distance. The living room is open to the dining room which is open to the kitchen. There are all new appliances and an induction stove. Outside on the deck, is a propane gas grill. And on the ground floor (off the garage) is a family room which can be used as a recreation/playroom, a family TV room, a nanny's or teenager's private space, or simply as another large bedroom.

The first floor master with en suite bathroom is a private retreat, with a CA king bed, seating area, walk-in closet, and private deck. A second large upstairs bedroom has a CA king for a teenager, or other adult; but it can easily be reconfigured with two twin beds. The third cheerful yellow bedroom has two XL twins. The upstairs bathroom has a steam shower, heated towel rack & heated floors and serves the two upstairs bedrooms as well as, the loft.

Located in the small beachtown of Montara, our home is only blocks from the Pacific Ocean and minutes from the unspoilt beaches. Yet, it is only 20-30 minutes from San Francisco, UCSF, SF State and SF International Airport (SFO)/San Mateo, the cities on the Peninsula (Palo Alto, Stanford Univ (45-60 min), wine country, and the cities of Santa Cruz/Monterey. Public transit (BART) from the next town north, i.e., Pacifica, goes into downtown SF or, to Berkeley/Oakland.

Situated next to open space, this light-filled, open house has great views of the woods and coastal mountains. The outdoor gardens with seating areas are home to song birds, hummingbirds, butterflies, gophers, and deer. It is a wonderful restful retreat.

Nearby (two miles), Princeton Harbor is a working harbor where you can buy your freshly caught fish, crab. The beaches and the bluff walks and a flat paved 14-mile long bicycle trail are wonderful for all ages

A short ten minute drive south will get you to the quaint, seaside town of Half Moon Bay with its galleries, restaurants, and golf courses. Further south are San Gregorio and Pescadero with their beautiful beaches, bird marshes and Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Sunny Santa Cruz has wonderful surfing beaches and is a short hour south.
