I stayed in this lovely house during a 5-month sabbatical at UNC. It is located in a quiet, wooded part of Carrboro, only minutes away from an entrance to the Carolina North Forest (fantastic for walking/running/mountain-biking). The house is fully furnished, and includes all mod-cons (including a rice cooker!). The landlords, Elizabeth and Dan Nord, live next door and were wonderful.

I didn't have a car while staying here but got a bike instead. The house is very convenient for cycling: 5 minutes to the nearest supermarket, 10 minutes to the shops and restaurants in downtown Carrboro, and 18 minutes to UNC campus (a pleasant ride along dedicated bike trails and roads with bike lanes). The house is also 5 minutes from a major bus route that services Carrboro and Chapel Hill.

I would thoroughly recommend this home to anyone who is planning to spend time in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area.

We stayed in this lovely house during a sabbatical year in 2010-2011 and found it perfect. It is very convenient to UNC and all the delights of Chapel Hill and yet has a rural charm with forested surroundings and deer running around in the area. Our son (Middle Schooler) enjoyed the local public school and our dog was delighted with all the walks. The Nords are perfect landlords and keen on being good neighbours as well. Highly recommended! Everything about this home is charming. The setting is lovely, the neighbors are delightful, and the Nords, who live next door, are warm and helpful. I was sad to have to return to my real life from the idyll I enjoyed in this house in Carrboro.

The commute to Duke was easy; there's no commute to speak of for UNC. Although this house feels like a woodland cottage, it's within a short walk of shopping and local restaurants and a 5-minute drive to great take-out spots in Chapel Hill.

If you're spending time at Duke or UNC, this is the place to live. Wonderful in every way!
