In the heart of the city, steps from the subway, museums, shopping, dining
Our two bedroom condo is located in a 21 story, 8 year old luxury building with quality amenities, including a pool, fitness room, library, and party room. From our two balconies, there is a great view of the city and the CN tower. A sub-penthouse on the 19th floor, the unit is very bright and tastefully furnished with a contemporary gas fireplace, stainless steel appliances, and modern furniture. The layout of the condo, with each bedroom on either side of the main living area, provides lots of light and room to entertain. Please note that the second bedroom is used as a home office [with new double sofa bed]. The office/second bedroom is in its own wing, with a separate bathroom (including shower), so the office is a quiet workspace. The main bedroom is on the other side of the condo unit, with an en-suite bathroom (large, deep tub and a marble shower), and walk-in closet. The condo is ideally suited for a couple, who may have a visitor from time to time. It is NOT suitable for children.
The unit is fully accessible with elevators and concierge desk that provides 24 hour security. The rooftop garden is open from April to November; tables and chairs allow for relaxation on the roof with a drink or a bar-b-que.
The condo is available for sabbatical rental from approx. Dec 12 2013 to early/mid April 2014. These dates are somewhat flexible. We prefer at least a 2 month rental for that period, but again, are flexible. We are also willing to consider two week rentals in the summer. I will be on sabbatical from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015 - please inquire.
We have successfully rented the condo each winter for the past three years, and find SabbaticalHomes works very well. I am a professor at York University so I use the subway and express bus to travel to York. It takes about 45-50 minutes - plenty of time for reading! We are within a 20 min. walk of U of T and Ryerson.
Our neighborhood: The condo is located on a cul-de-sac one block south and east of Yonge and Bloor, in the area known as Bloor-Yorkville. Literally 200 steps from the entrance to the subway, it is an ideal location for exploring Toronto and southern-Ontario. The subway is linked to GO and VIA trains [a 10 minute ride to Union Station]. There are dozens of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The Metropolitan Toronto Library, Yorkville, the Royal Ontario Museum [ROM] are close by. The St. Lawrence Market [farmer's market on Saturdays; antique market on Sundays; regular stalls with meat, cheese and produce open all week] has been rated one of the best markets in the world. Toronto offers a variety of distinct village-like areas such as Greek town, the gay village, High Park, The Beaches, and College Street. To see more pictures and info about our area of Bloor-Yorkville, and other areas of interest, see: http://www.seetorontonow.com//Visitor/Explore/City-Neighbourhoods.aspx - Note: Niagara Falls and the US border are approx. 1hr 20min. drive; Montreal is 5hrs; Ottawa is 4hrs.
Please note that parking is not always available. Ask, and we'll see what we can do.
