You will be in a charming, southern French small-village setting in the calm, but with all modern comforts and with nice appliances. Only a 30 min. drive from Montpellier, and only 3 & 1/2 hours from Paris or the CDG airport by TGV.

You will be located in the pretty, historic village of Aniane (founded in 777 C.E.), known, among other things for the Mas du Daumas Gassac winery and the Abbey of Saint Benoit. The area boasts a wonderful marché, and amazing restaurants. You'll be near the incomparable St. Guilhem-le-Désert and the must-see Grotte de Clamouse (4 mi.); Pont du Diable / Gorge de l'Herault (2.5 mi.); St. Jean de Fos (potter's village) (3 mi.); and, Gignac (3 mi.). 22 miles from Montpellier.

There are many activities in the area: tourism, hiking, canoeing, wine tasting, horseback riding, restaurants, and swimming. Aniane is on the Saint Jacques de Compostelle pilgrimage trail. Have fun exploring the area: 45 minutes from Palavas (and its lovely beaches), one hour from Aigues-Mortes, and from Sète and the Frontignan beaches, one hour from the Cévennes and from the Cirque de Navacelles, 40 minutes from the Cirque de Mourèze and from Knights-Templars village La Couvertoirade, 1 & 1/2 hours to Saintes Maries de la Mer and to the Camargue, 1 hour from Nimes, 1 hour 20 to Pont du Gard and to Arles, one hour from Roquefort and the Viaduc de Millau ...
