Owners Inge & Rolf welcome all guests to participate in the resort life (incl. occasional meals) and subtropical vegetable garden as well as in communal activities (i.e. Transition Towns Kerikeri) as much as is wanted. It's a great way to get to know people in unfamiliar surroundings. Obviously, privacy is granted if preferred.

Sauna, spa bath, massages, homeopathic consultation and other health treatments are available at the Wellness Centre to provide a maximum of relaxation and enjoyment. You can also learn to change your diet to improve your well-being.

At Ora Ora we aim for the smallest possible footprint without much of an impact on comfort and luxury: solar hot water heater, photovoltaic panels with grid connection to produce about 1/3 of electricity consumed, waste minimization, recycling, energy saving lamps, no chemical cleaning products, natural insulation, rainwater harvest with excellent filtration and wastewater treatment to irrigate the gardens, large variety of vegetables, fruit and nuts in organic gardens, used vegetable oil to fuel the car, etc.

Our website offers lots of information about the numerous attractions of Kerikeri, Bay of Islands and Northland, and we can recommend many of the regional attractions we have experienced ourselves.

Kerikeri town offers all we need, including shops, restaurants, vineyards, airport (40 minutes to Auckland), library, cultural centre, historical buildings, nature reserves, tracks, golf course, polytechnic, flying school, and lots of other useful opportunities.

Ora Ora Resort is surrounded by the historic Kerikeri River Nature Reserve with New Zealand's oldest wooden and stone buildings across the river. There is a direct access to the popular Rainbow Falls Track (one hour one way) to the 26m Rainbow Falls through "Lord-of-the-Rings" like forest.
