The villa is located on the lower slopes of Muizenberg mountain overlooking False Bay. It is fully equipped and tastefully furnished with gleaming Oregon pine floors. The front porch leads to a generous entrance hall. The spacious lounge has an oak fireplace, two large sofas, an ottoman, occasional chairs, coffee table, a bookcase and a television cabinet for DSTV (satellite television). The lounge provides access via a glass sliding door to the tiled balcony, spanning the entire front of the villa, and to the furnished view deck overlooking the garden. The views from the balcony and the deck of the Indian Ocean, the Hottentots Hollands mountain range and the Cape Flats area are spectacular by day and magical by night. The Villa has three bedrooms: the main is en suite with a double bed and a chaise longue: the other two rooms have twin beds in each and share a large bathroom with bath and shower. The dining room and kitchen are open plan: the dining room has a modern gas fireplace and seats six comfortably. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, two fridges, a gas hob and a microwave oven. The washing machine is fitted into the second bathroom.
The telephone operates on a Telkom pre-paid voucher system. Computer users can utilise a Telkom '8*ta' Mobile Broadband USB stick.
The fully fenced garden is designed for labour saving with terraces, paving and a barbecue area with table and seating. Mature trees provide shade from the summer heat. The garden service comes every three weeks. The fee for this is included in the rental
The villa has its own security system which enables visitors to 'lock up and leave'. It is situated in a safe and secure environment within a neighbourhood which enjoys professional guards on a 24/7 basis. Parking is at street level from where the villa is reached by 52 steps.
From the villa there is easy access to the M3 major freeway leading to the University of Cape Town (15 minutes), the centre of Cape Town, Table Mountain, the Waterfront and Cape Town International Airport. The villa's location also provides easy access via Prince George Drive to the University of the Western Cape (30 minutes). False Bay railway station is within easy walking distance from where there are good services to Cape Town and to Simonstown.
The villa is ideally positioned at the gateway to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, its beaches and historic hamlets.This enables visitors to enjoy the local attractions of restaurants and beaches. There is a seaside walk from Muizenberg to St James and to the old world fishing village of Kalk Bay, where fresh fish can be purchased in the picturesque harbour. Adventurous visitors can take tours to world famous sites, nature reserves and other destinations, for example, Robben Island, Cape of Good Hope,Table Mountain and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. In addition, advantage can be taken of the Cape sunshine to partake in golf, sailing, kayaking, surfing, whale watching, shark diving, swimming with penguins, horse riding, mountain biking and hiking.
Cape Town celebrates its cultural diversity through a variety of arts and crafts, markets, shopping malls, vibrant townships and outstanding restaurants for fine wining and dining. The city offers a wide choice of plays, concerts, ballet and opera at the Arts Centre and other theatres at venues both indoor and outdoor. Wine farms are a major feature of the Cape region, several are located in the immediate vicinity of the villa while others are further afield in the beautiful Stellenbosch winelands area. |
