| Enjoy Irish village life while within easy reach of Dublin city and universities! |
Our lovely bright 4-bed detached house is situated in a cul de sac in a residential area in the lovely village of Ashbourne, Co. Meath. It is within short walking distance of all local amenities, including primary and secondary schools, shops, restaurants, pubs, playground, public library, doctor's practice etc. Located on the Dublin side of the village, it also has excellent public transport links to Dublin City and Airport and good transport links to Dublin's universities.
Downstairs and to front of the house is a large formal sitting/dining room with a sandstone fireplace and a dining table that seats 8. To the rear is a spacious, light, modern kitchen/family room with two sets of patio doors that open out into a large back garden. Adjacent to this room is a smart office set up for two people.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is furnished with a beautiful dark wood double bed and matching bedside lockers. It also has built-in wardrobes and an ensuite shower-room. Bedroom 2, also at the front of the house, is a large bright room, again with a built-in wardrobe. The single bed here has an additional trundle guest bed. Bedroom 3 is another large bedroom, again furnished with a single bed, additional trundle guest bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 4, the smallest bedroom, is still generously proportioned. It has a pine single bed and ample storage. All bedrooms are carpeted and have thermal blackout blinds and lined curtains.
The family bathroom upstairs has a jacuzzi bath and a Supajet shower. The ensuite shower-room off the master bedroom also has a Supajet shower. Downstairs is a stylish guest WC.
There are plenty of sports facilities in the nearby Ashbourne Community Centre, Ashbourne Golf Club and Ashbourne GAA Club. There is a local playground, a public library with regular activities for adults and children and a swimming pool 10 minutes walk away. Adults and children alike will be spoilt for choice, with classes in horse-riding, Irish dancing, GAA, hurling, camogie, ballet, taekwon-do, swimming, art, hip-hop and music, to name but a few, in the local area.
For those planning on taking the opportunity to get to know Ireland, Ashbourne is also the perfect jumping-off point to explore! The ancient passage tomb of Newgrange and the Hill of Tara, ancient seat of the High Kings of Ireland, are a short car-journey away. The castles of Slane, Trim and Maynooth are easily accessible, and the round tower in Glasnevin Cemetary is definitely worth a visit!
Our house is very child-friendly and would be ideally suited to a family. It has a fitted stair-gate (removeable) and plenty of children's furniture. Baby furniture (cot, changing unit, baby bath, high chair) can be supplied if needed. The big playset in the back garden also has a baby swing attachment for babies 6-24 mths.
