| Attractive flat in Leipzig, Germany. |
We would like to offer our apartment near the center of Leipzig as a service to academics and other professionals who wish to visit Leipzig or eastern Germany for research, teaching, conference, or tourist purposes.
The flat is located in a renovated turn-of-the-century apartment house in Gohlis-Süd, one of the most attractive, desirable, and convenient residential neighborhoods in Leipzig. It is 64 sq. meters (690 sq. ft.) with two bedrooms, two baths, a living room, and a kitchen area, enough room for a family of four. Located on the ground floor in the back wing of the house, the flat is quiet and has a wooden balcony with direct access to a green house garden. It is completely furnished and renovated.
Rent covers all utilities, including water, heating, and electricity. Also included are the use of a computer, washer, dryer, dishwasher, high-speed internet access with wireless network, DVD player, digital cable television with channels in German, English, French, and several other languages, and cordless telephone with 10 euros worth of free phone calls.
The house is on a quiet street with a one minute walk to the nearest tram stop. Within walking distance are landmarks such as the Schillerhaus (directly nearby), the Gohliser Schlösschen (two minutes), the wooded Rosental Park (five minutes), and the Leipzig Zoo (fifteen minutes). Many shopping and dining opportunities are within a five minutes walk and you can reach the center of town, the university, the stadium, and the railway station by foot or tram in a half hour or less.
This location is ideal as a base if you need to work in Leipzig at its universities, scientific institutions, trade fairs, the German National Library (Deutsche Nationalbibliothek), the German Central Library for the Blind (Deutsche Zentralbücherei für Blinde), the state archive (Staatsarchiv Leipzig), or the Max Planck Society. It is also convenient to the cities of Halle, Dresden, and Berlin.
According the German Tourist Board, “Leipzig has been an important influence in European commercial and intellectual life for centuries, and its sights are all part of the Leipzig experience. Historical shopping arcades, lovingly restored, are typical of the architecture in the city center. There are great shops, a vibrant cultural scene and lively bars that stay open very late, all within a relatively small area.”
We have had many guests and would welcome your stay in our second home! Rent negotiable for long-term, multi-month bookings. Rentals for less than one month subject to an additional flat 50 euro cleaning fee.
No smoking, please.
