N6 Highgate Light, beautiful Victorian three double bedroom, two bathroom house in sought after North London area - very easy access for all central London Colleges & Universities

Our home is a beautiful, light-filled and completely renovated (2009), end of terrace academic's house in Highgate, London. It is located on a very quiet, tree-lined road, within 5 minutes of Highgate tube station on the Northern Line, and 5 minutes from buses to the centre. The quiet road winds alongside London's longest parkland space - the Parkland Walk. It is 15-20 mins by tube to UCL, LSE, SOAS, Birkbeck, and LSHTM, and 40 mins to Imperial College and South Kensington. The location is also well connected to the City of London and the West End by bus and tube (again around 20 minutes). Our home is a three storey, highly original Victorian house built in 1884. We are both interested in environmental sustainability and renovated the house to maximise its potential for natural light and energy conservation, while retaining the Victorian features we inherited with the original house. There are three double bedrooms and two bathrooms (top floor has master bedroom with en suite and walk-in wardrobe, and a further family bathroom is located on the first floor for the other two double bedrooms). There is an open plan ground floor with double aspect reception room and dining room with two fireplaces; office area; cloakroom and guest WC; utility room and fully fitted glass roofed kitchen. The kitchen and office open onto a secluded wildlife garden (with a small wildlife pond for frogs, newts and visiting birds and hedgehogs), with a lit patio area for outside summer dining. There is a garage for a small vehicle and storage. The house is fully furnished and equipped (all new appliances in 2009): there are two TVs; an IMac computer for your use; fast broadband and wifi; and energy efficient appliances. We supply all linen, towels, kitchen equipment, and everything else for your stay. Rent also covers a gardener who maintains the wildlife garden, a monitored burglar alarm system, insurance, TV licenses and a local estate agent who manages the house for us. Highgate is one of the most sought after areas in London. It is very popular with Uni of London academics, musicians and writers and is full of parks (Waterlow Park; Hampstead Heath; Highgate and Queens Woods and the Parkland Walk). The area also has a wonderful village feel and has local amenities in Highgate, Crouch End and Muswell Hill, with cinemas, restaurants, cafes, gyms, swimming pools - and an open air 50 metre lido - all within walking distance. We have had international academics staying in our house since 2009 and they all love the house and area as much as we do. The area has good quality local schools who have welcomed our tenants' children. Our previous tenants have all said they "love the house and garden" and have described the house as "beautiful and light filled house in a lovely area", and all are happy to advise new tenants.
