| House in Vineyards Spain/Portuguese Border Two Countries for One |
This small but cosy house is located on a farm amongst the vineyards of the Rio Minho region of North Portugal. The cottage is in a rural setting and looks out over hills and vineyards, but the historic River Minho town of Monção (and over the river to Spain) is just a 5 min drive away with supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. The Spanish side is the region of Galicia which is unspoilt by tourists and very beautiful. Likewise this part of Portugal has not been spoilt by tourism. These parts of Spain and Portugal are still very authentic. Vigo (40 min), Porto (1.5 hr) the famous city of Santiago de Compostela is an easy 1.5 hr drive, Valenca and Tui (with factory outlets )(20 min), Braga (1.5 hr), Porto ( 1.5 hr ). International airports at Vigo, Santiago and Porto. Train to Lisbon from Valenca. The magnificent Peneda-Gerês National Park is a 40 min drive away. Ideal spot to base yourself for day trips into Spain and Portugal. Local farm owners very friendly. We particulary encourage any students or academics who may wish to spent an extended period at the house to undertake research,writing etc.We would be more than happy to negotiate any long term rental proposals as we would prefer for the house to be used as much as possible.Please visit the website http://quintadesende.blogspot.com/ for more info |
