This charming and comfortable 3 bedroom home is located in a private gated village built around a medieval castle approx 25 minutes from Nice/Cote D'Azur Airport, 15 minutes north of Cannes. The house provides a quiet and private environment, perfect for sabbatical studies, writing, creativity and adventure especially from September through May when tourists are at a minimum. Climate is temperate in the off season and the house provides a cozy private, winter retreat with lovely views and living room with wood burning fireplace.
The house has 3 levels: main level includes living room, dining room, fully equipped modern kitchen, breakfast area, 1/2 bath, garden patio and large rear terrace. Upper level includes 2 large bedrooms each with en suite full bath and balcony. Garden level has a large bdrm and full bath which opens to a spacious lawn w/outdoor shower.
The office is also on this level with an en suite bath.
Castelleras was developed in the 1950's around an original medieval castle.
The 80 homes were individually designed by the famous French architect, Jacques Couelle, in a cluster style which leaves more than 20 hectares of open land, terraced with olive trees and walking paths. The village offers a serene way of life in a protected surrounding only minutes from the restaurants of Mougins and the excitement of Cannes' Croisette, beaches and the film festival. The terrace has views of Gorges Du Loup and magnificent sunsets. There are also lovely views throughout the village of the Mediterranean, the Bay of Cannes, the Esterel Massif and the Alpes Maritimes.
The area abounds with museums, history and natural beauty. This allows wonderful day trips, shopping and recreational opportunities in interesting locations. The nearest towns are Valbonne and Mougins and Mouans-Sartoux.
The private village has two outdoor swimming pools open from April - October. The adult pool is heated (age 15 plus only) from April through October and has splendid views of the Mediterranean. In July and August lunch and dinner are served at a poolside restaurant. The childrens' pool, set in the woods, is uniquely designed so that young children can walk into the water at one end. During July and August there is a lifeguard and supervised games in a nearby play area. There are 4 tennis courts (composition) and several excellent golf courses are nearby. The private village is staffed with 24 hour security and on-site guards.
Long term rental does NOT include phone, heat & electricity, laundry and final cleaning. Internet access and cable tv is included in rent.
A security deposit will be required to cover the final cleaning charges, any damage and any breakage.
