A lovely and comfortable Cotswold Colonial style home on a quiet, dead end street in a diverse, welcoming and exceptionally child-friendly neighborhood (community garden, holiday carols, etc.). - 4 bedroom, 2.5 baths - sleeps 7 on beds; 4 additional on sleep sofas

Main floor: - eat-in kitchen with natural cherry recessed wood and glass panel cabinets, modern appliances (photo) - living room with a non-working fireplace, a pristine Yamaha concert grand piano, a Stickley leather sleep sofa (queen size with a remarkably comfortable air mattress) and French doors that open onto a deck and the back yard (photo) - our favorite room, a sunny library/office with two desks, many filing cabinets and built-in bookshelves. The kitchen opens through the mud room onto a screened-in porch and the deck. The porch and deck step down to a brick patio with a propane gas grill and the back yard (photo).
Second floor: Three bedrooms, each with cedar-lined closets; a full bath and an additional small office/nursery room. The master bedroom features a king size bed with a "Tempurpedic"-style mattress (way too comfortable for your own good!). (3 photos) Third floor - gabled attic (with skylights): Fully finished as a 1 bedroom suite consisting of a bedroom (two beds) with cedar-lined closet, living/lounge space with easy chairs, a "zero gravity" recliner chair, and sleeper sofa, and a full bathroom (stall shower). This space is very convenient for visitors, in-laws, a nanny (or teenagers!).
The driveway holds 3 autos and slopes down to the basement level. At the end of the driveway is a 10' x 25' covered storage area (part of the basement level and directly under the office) suitable for keeping bikes, lawnmowers, garbage cans, etc. out of the rain.
The remaining basement space is a separate-entrance suite that is not available for use by the renter.
Heat is forced hot water by oil with three zones independently controlled by thermostats (two are programmable). The boiler is a System 2000, one of the most energy efficient boilers on the market. AC is by window units (5).
Water/Sewer charges are included. Cable TV/phone/high speed internet service is included. Phone includes free, unlimited long-distance service to all of the U.S. and Canada.
Renter is responsible for heat and electricity, house cleaning, basic lawn upkeep, and snow removal. We provide a gas-powered lawn mower, rakes, snow shovels etc. Commercial lawn-mowing and snow-removal services are easy to hire if you prefer.
Renter will also need to "water" the piano every 2 to 4 weeks by filling the tank on its hydrating device. (It's easy; we'll teach you how.)
Fully-furnished including dishes, utensils, linens, etc.
For the avid gardener, space in the community garden may be available for the 2012 growing season.

PS - the bedrooms are very difficult for us to photograph. For what it's worth, to us they seem a bit smaller in the photos than they are in reality. Nonetheless, they are perfectly adequate in size. |
