This detached, furnished house, built just five years ago, is in the heart of the beautiful village of Uffington. Situated in a small cul-de-sac, it has splendid views over open fields beyond the garden.

There is a large entrance hall leading to a spacious living room with a wood burning stove and french doors that open onto one of two patios. The light and airy dining room has windows on three walls with french doors to the garden. The modern kitchen has a 90 cm stainless steel gas cooker, two electric ovens and large fridge freezer. The utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and Belfast sink, with a door leading to a small courtyard. There is a downstairs cloakroom with coat cupboard.
Upstairs there are four double bedrooms and an office. The master bedroom has a double shower in the en suite and skylights in the raised ceiling. The family bathroom is tiled with a bath-shower. The fourth bedroom is on a floor above the others. It has an en suite shower room, skylights and an incredible view. All the bathrooms have heated towel rails and there is plenty of storage space.
The rear garden comprises lawn, borders, large patios with furniture and a BBQ, washing line and a productive vegetable patch. There is a large single garage with additional freezer and fridge. There is space on the driveway for two cars.
The house has LPG gas central heating and solar panels provide a major contribution to the electricity. There is a high speed wireless network available and a security system.
Uffington, one of Oxfordshire's finest villages, is overlooked by the historic White Horse carved into the nearby chalk hills. The village enjoys excellent facilities including a thriving village shop and post office, a pub, a village hall (hosting many groups and activities), a park and playing fields. There is a primary school, church and small museum.
This peaceful and tranquil village has excellent links to Oxford, Swindon and the M4, all being within 20-40 minutes drive. Rail links to London, Bath and Bristol are at Swindon and Didcot Parkway (30 minutes) - ideal for getting to the Olympics. There is a regular bus service to nearby towns of Wantage and Faringdon. Both have been market towns since the 1800s and this tradition continues. They also both have a lively array of local shops, pubs and restaurants. There are many local leisure centres and sports facilities as well as opportunities for walking the Ridgeway Path.
We are a family of four and the house is currently suited to two young children so baby and child equipment is available. However, there are also two double beds, two single beds and range of other furniture that can be rearranged as appropriate to your needs.
Two cats, Basil and Sybil, live at the property and are ideally looking for cat lovers to join them. |
