2-BR house for rent on UC Santa Cruz campus
Our house is available to rent for summer 2013, or fall 2013, or both. The house is in the Ranch View Terrace faculty/staff housing neighborhood on the campus of the University of California, Santa Cruz. We plan to rent it as a furnished 2-BR with a spacious loft/workspace, reserving the third bedroom for our belongings, but possibly the third bedroom could be made available as well. The two-floor house is about 1,800 square feet in total, and includes a large, open kitchen - dining room - living room on the ground floor. The master BR and master bath are both spacious, and there is another full bath on the second floor and a half-bath on the ground floor. Built in 2008, the house features high ceilings and plenty of windows and light. It's energy-efficient, and also very clean. While there is not much of a private yard, we do have three large garden planters, which have produced lots of vegetables and spices in the two seasons since we built them.
The house has a two-car carport, and we anticipate that one of the parking spaces in the carport will be available. It is about an 8-minute walk to the bus stop, with campus and city bus lines.
Ranch View Terrace has lovely views of the Monterey Bay, though you can't see the bay from our house. The neighborhood is adjacent to the campus's arboretum and working 25-acre organic farm, which are a pleasure to explore. This is an excellent place from which to start walks or bike rides around the campus or the nearby parks. Ranch View has a small playground and other playgrounds are a short distance away. It is a supremely kid-friendly place, and the neighbors are wonderful people.
