| Artist's Bamboo Retreat in Ubud |
Designed and built by renowned British artist Jason Monet, who lived in Ubud for 30 years, this Bamboo sculpture offers valley views over Nyuh Kuning river and in the far distance views of Mount Agung. At the rear of the property are lush rice paddies. The valley is covered with coconut trees, banana palms, papaya, mango, rambutan, jackfruit, and avocado and clove trees.
The heart of Ubud is only 10 minutes away by motorbike, or half an hour stroll through Monkey Forest, where you can find famous markets and well known museums and galleries. Although so close to town it is incredibly peaceful and quiet. The house is completely furnished with all essential facilities, refrigerator, oven, hot water, wifi, bedding and laundry service (excluding personal items). Open style living.
Ubud, being in the heart of Bali, is so close to all the other great destinations. You have Sanur beach only 30 minutes away, Padang Bai for great snorkelling on the East coast, and Kintamani for lakes and mountains to the north. Bali does offer motorbike and car rentals at a cheap price if desired, otherwise motorbike transport to and from the property to town can be arranged by the staff at the house for a nominal fee.
The house is maintained and loved by our friendly staff, Puspa, Wayan and Made. Puspa will conduct general household duties every day (except ceremony holidays) and the boys maintain the gardens and maintenance that is required.
