Seeking Professional(s)/Graduate Students/Visiting Faculty to share Large, Luxurious Contemporary in Historic Lexington ("Birthplace of American Liberty")

Sunny private suite on main floor, east wing of luxurious contemporary house (and one furnished bedroom on the 2nd floor) in sought-after neighborhood (Harrington/Clarke/LHS School District). One mile to Historic Lexington Center, 1 block to MBTA bus routes to Alewife T-station and/or MIT/Harvard Square, steps from the Minuteman Bikeway.

Private suite has two rooms, one huge (21'x12.5'), one smaller (12'x10'), plus a full bath. Upstairs bedroom shares upstairs main hall bathroom/laundry. Share main house kitchen and other amenities including a 3-season porch with a hot tub (used year-round), a large library, formal LR/DR with piano, a full basement which includes a 2nd family room & office area (perfect for those who wish to work part-time from home) and an exercise/workout/play space. Extensive grounds include multiple decks, a beautiful patio, and both organic vegetable and flower gardens. Must see to appreciate!

Rent includes all utilities (heat/AC, electricity, water/sewer, cable, internet, and access to 2nd floor laundry facilities). Off-street parking on driveway parking pad. Rent also includes driveway snow plowing and lawn mowing. I'm very energy conscious and try to live "green" whenever possible, so would appreciate like-minded tenants.

One 13-year old indoor cat (de-clawed and friendly) also lives here. No smoking and no (additional) pets.

Suite (Avail. June 2013, then again 1-1-2014): First and Last month's rent ($2000/mth), plus $2000 as Security Deposit. References required. Preference given to longer term tenants, but will consider shorter term rentals.

About I am an empty-nested mom who loves her big cozy house and is not ready to give it up just yet. I have two daughters, one in Graduate School in CA working on a PhD, the other is a 2nd year Undergraduate in NY. Both are in the sciences. I have experience in sharing my home long-term with friends and acquaintances and their families (who have become and remain friends) when they have undergone extensive renovations on their own properties and needed a place to live. And I now have 1 year's experience sharing my home with visiting scholars, their families, and graduate students. I enjoy people and they seem to enjoy living with me. I have one 12-year old cat (de-clawed and friendly) who lives here also.

My family of four people spent in this house 4 months. There were two other tenants with whom we shared the house. And the house never was crowded (neither in physical nor psychological sense). It is big enough to find cosy and quiet place to work or to have a rest. Or to watch TV. Or to do some exercises in mini-gym. Or to play frisbee in yard.

We adored beautiful kitchen, two roomy living rooms, and of course our two bedrooms (both with nice view outside). And our kids (teenagers) preferred basement where they spent most of the time after school in wintertime. Basement is well furnished and heated so it was good extra space for all of us. Hot tub is something that I will miss very much. This is exceptional pleasure to have a hot tub after busy day in big porch with big window to rainy yard. The most helpful person in the house was landlady. She helped us on plenty of occasions.

Perfect bikeway behind the house is just additional advantage. I use it everyday to get to Harvard (although there are convenient bus routes and T).

This house and its owner are among best things that happened to us in this trip.
