Historic 1br cottage right next to UC Berkeley

Built in the 30s either as a fireproof cottage for a professors library, or perhaps as a speakeasy during prohibition, our back cottage/legal duplex has tons of charm. Poured concrete construction with high ceilings, large kitchen with Viking stove, large bedroom with separate gas heater, and more. There is a small capacity washer in the bathroom. Fold out couch, dining room table and gas fireplace in living room. Perfect location for someone at UCB who loves the outdoors. We are a 5min mostly flat-ish walk to International House, and UC open space with hiking trails starts across the street (including GBRC which has a pool for UC community). View picture is from hiking trail up the hill... 3 dogs live in the front house, they would be impossible to completely avoid. At times we have a bee hive in the back yard, so animal haters or people with bee allergies would not be appropriate. We prefer to rent to people associated with UCB looking for an academic year (possibly a semester) rental, not long term tenants (which might be a possibility, but shouldn't be initial expectation).
