Beautiful home near nature, comes with cat!

We're professors at McMaster University who have been living in Hamilton since 2019. Yana is from Bulgaria and Derek is from Vancouver Island, so we travel a lot and need care for our cat Vito and someone to water our plants. Vito is a very independent outdoor cat, so all he needs is food, water, and daily attention. He comes and goes and entertains himself in the neighborhood. Smoke free house. Home and Location: Our 100-year old Dundas house has lovely oak floors and big windows throughout, so it gets a lot of light. The house has heating and central air conditioning, laundry (washer and dryer), a piano, plus a modern kitchen with a dishwasher and gas stove. The layout is three bedrooms, one bathroom (with bathtub), and a basement for storage, laundry, etc. We have a baby's room set up with a crib and changing table if you have a young child. The third bedroom is really two small rooms: we normally use it for offices or as a small guest bedroom. We have a small backyard with a deck to enjoy the leafy summers. We also have a small locked garage to store bikes, strollers, and things like that. The location is in the centre of beautiful Dundas, Ontario, a neighourhood of Hamilton nestled in the Niagara escarpment with access by walk, bike, and/or short drive to many waterfalls and a huge network of hiking/biking trails. Dundas is the oldest neighborhood in Hamilton, so it's full of interesting and eclectic architecture. We're also a five minute walk from all the stores, restaurants, and cafes on King St., where you can get basically everything you need. The famous Dundas Driving Park has playgrounds, splashpools, tennis, lawnbowling, etc.. There's also a library, swimming pool, community centre, gym, theatre, skating rink, museum, dance studio, art gallery, art school, and more, all within a ten minute walk. It's a perfect place for walking, running, and finding things to do in the community. The nearest big grocery store is Metro in central Dundas. The centre of Toronto, the biggest city in Canada, is about an hour by car or an hour and a half by train. Within two or three hours drive you can reach places like Algonquin Park, Georgian Bay, and Great Lakes beaches. Sitters are welcome to use the master bedroom and all the amenities of the house, including stored food. Responsibilities: Cat care, watering indoor plants, and watering the yard if it's dry out. Vito is an independent outdoor cat, so all he needs is food, water, and daily attention. He comes and goes and entertains himself in the neighborhood. He has a cat door and he's allowed out at any time. We also need someone to water our indoor plants every two weeks and to water the small garden if the weather is very dry. The only other thing is to keep an eye on the house, keep it reasonably clean (or arrange for a cleaning service), and let us know if anything stops working so we can send a repairperson.
