Professors’ warm, welcoming, fully furnished home in Newton (Waban) available to rent from about November 1, 2023 to about May 31, 2024 (dates flexible/negotiable). Our home is on a quiet street near the T (Green Line D train from Riverside to Union Square), Route 128/I-95), and Route 9. Easy walk to shops and restaurants of Waban, Newton Highlands, and Newton Upper Falls, and a short drive to Newton Center and commercial corridor along Highland Avenue. It is a short walk to the Quinobequin Trail and to Echo Bridge along the Charles River, and a somewhat longer pleasant walk to Cold Spring Park. Convenient travel to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, the Longwood medical complex, Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis University, Wellesley College, and other institutions. The house is a traditional center-hall colonial: as you enter the front door to your left there is a living room (with gas fireplace) and a family/media room (with a 65” screen, sound system, and Blu-Ray player); to your right is a dining room, and straight ahead is the well-quipped kitchen (and a half-bathroom). Upstairs are a large main bedroom suite with a king-size bed and its own bathroom and walk-in closet, a second bedroom with a queen bed and closet (with a bathroom in the hallway), and a third room is furnished as a good-sized office. The front yard is professionally landscaped. A pleasant screened-in porch overlooks a private backyard. The house has an efficient multi-zone gas system for heating and central air for cooling. Averaged over a full year, gas (heating and cooking) costs about $250/month, electricity about ($100/month), water/sewer $100/month, and internet service (as currently configured but adjustable) about $80/month.
