Description
Our French Jura home Le Thélème is a lovely place for anyone - even more so for writers, artists, researchers. It is beautiful, peaceful and soulful. Once here, you may not want to go anywhere: the garden is enchanting, the swimming pool inviting from under its cover of surrounding trees, of which a magnificent cherry one. There is a summer kitchen, a huge arts/yoga/meditation room upstairs with lovely views on the garden, and une salle des jeux (games room). The area has so much to offer as already mentioned - on top of any sports you may want to engage in, a wonderful arts (music and theatre/cinema) scene in Lons le Saunier, the administrative capital of the Jura 10 minutes by car from us. And loads of great restaurants of course.

Comments: This is a truly wonderful, magic area. Still fairly undiscovered, it has forests, lakes, rivers, few people yet lovely towns and villages, with good food and wine. Paradise for people who love outdoor living and sports. Cycling, horseriding, swimming, hiking, climbing, caving, gorge walking, canyoning, kayaking; and cross-country and downhill skiing in winter (although this winter snow is rather lacking, one needs to go to the Alps for proper skiing).

Comments: This is an enchanting place, perfect for a writer's or artist's retreat. Beautiful pond with dragonflies; swimming pool surrounded by trees and flowers; walks in the vinyards/woods outside the gate; village boulangerie 2 minutes by foot. Paradise?

Comments: We have an outdoor summer kitchen, with a huge beautiful room upstairs - views on the garden. The room can be used as an art studio, yoga place. etc. Not heated - only used in summer. We also have a huge hangar (shed), which can serve as a studio

Comments: As we have another home in Brighton, we can let our house in Gevingey any time really. Preferably between June to Oct. But other dates possible too
