Apartment has one-bedroom, plus a loft with a platform bed and futon for occasional guests or which can easily be used as a comfortable reading/study area. The large-southern exposure windows provide light and heat all year round and you can glimpse the Golden Gate Bridge and Mount Tam from the 4th floor balcony. The unit retains its artistic provenance as the designer-owner’s former studio, and is decorated in a mix of urban chic and unique objects. The building has a large outdoor patio with grill available for residents and a bike lockstand, and has its own laundry room. 24/7 security cameras operate in the public areas of the building. We have housed many professors and visiting scholars over the years, to their universal commendation. (One of the owners is a former Cal Visiting Scholar himself.) Location gives easy access to BART and all the entertainment/dining options of downtown Berkeley. The Trader Joe's market is in the same block and Saturday's Berkeley Farmers' Market a few minutes walk away.
