It is amazingly close to mid-town Manhattan (closer than Brooklyn or the Bronx), very well served by public transportation, safe, charming brick building on tree-lined streets, with an abundance of reasonably priced multicultural restaurants and grocery stores. The Apartment: More than 1000sq. feet Fully furnished and spacious 4th-floor apartment in an elevator building with hardwood floors and new double-paned windows in every room: - Master bedroom (green walls) has a queen-sized bed, two small closets, a dresser, and a desk. - 2nd Bedroom (navy walls) has a twin trundle bed that can also be used as a king-sized bed (see photos for both options), 2 dressers, and a large closet. - Living/Dining room with sofa, dining table, and flat-screen television - Modern eat-in kitchen with gas range, microwave, and a range of appliances, cooking supplies, and dishes. - Entryway with chaise lounge and armoire - Other: Hi-Speed WiFi, cable TV in the living room, air conditioners in bedrooms and living/dining room. *Some artwork has changed since the photos were taken. BUILDING: Pre-War building, security buzzer entry, elevator, laundry in the building. NEIGHBORHOOD: This charming, safe, quiet, multi-cultural neighborhood has a wonderful mix of new hip restaurants and an incredible variety of moderately priced ethnic restaurants and markets. In addition, there is a farmer’s market on the corner every Saturday! Skillman Ave (the cross street) offers a playground and a charming small-town walking street of restaurants and shops. TRANSPORTATION: - 7 subway: 5-minute walk from the building, runs along 42nd street, stopping at Grand Central Station (15-minute subway ride) Station, 5th Ave., and Times Square. The same subway train also provides an easy transfer for most other subway lines in the city. The 7 train is also active and safe to ride even late at night. (I, as a single woman, am comfortable riding it even after midnight.) The Q60 and Q34 buses on Queens Blvd (two blocks away) also quickly take you to Manhattan (one to East 60th St, near Bloomingdales, and the other to mid-town). RENT: flat $3,500 + some electricity (to be discussed) + cleaning fee TO MOVE IN: One month’s rent plus a one-month security deposit. NO PETS, NO SMOKING. NO CHILDREN. Please have references.
