Hi There ! Let us introduce ourselves, we are Kate, Paolo and our puppy dog Poe, and we live in our sweet and leafy 2 bedroom, 1 study, 2 bathroom apartment in Highgate Hill. Paolo is originally from Italy and is now an Aussie Citizen and a Lecturer at UQ in Art History. I am from Brisbane and work as an Arts Manager with a specialty in dance and festivals. Poe is a chihuahua puppy, but don't worry he will be with our family during your stay. We are big lovers of travel and food and are looking for someone kind and considerate to rent our place while we are away for a month in 2023. We love our little balcony gardens filled with flowers and herbs, including our big rooftop terrace with a pergola, a table and outdoor seating. We spend most of our time in the open plan living room with bright large windows and our bookshelves. We have a big wooden dining table great for hosting dinner parties as it is adjacent to the kitchen. Our pantry and fridge are filled with the basics, so please do feel free to use as needed. There is a Weber BBQ on the lower balcony, and happy for you to use, with cleaning after every use (to avoid build-up of grease and grime). We have a washing machine and dishwasher which we kindly ask you to set on Eco settings (to save water and bills!). There is also a communal compost bin at the back of the complex to deposit food waste scraps. We ask you to provide your own manchester and sheets. Thanks so very much! We have the option of either a second bedroom (single bed with door onto balcony) or the use of the study. We will need one room to store our belongings so you will have access and use to cupboards/storage and wardrobes for your stay. In the garage we have a pilates reformer and two bicycles you are welcome to use. There is plenty of visitor parking if you have a car, however, we are close to two bus stop routes 3 mins from our door (300 m away), or we are a 10-minute walk downhill to West End or 20 minutes to Southbank and the Cultural Precinct. Our complex is one of 14 townhouses/apartments, with a shared garden and pool area. Welcome to use these areas being mindful that it is shared space with our neighbors. Our neighbors are super friendly, with a mix of singles, couples, and young families. There are regular catch-ups over the pool area for drinks and nibbles, if you fancy joining in. Everyone is quiet and kind. The closest supermarkets are ALDI and Woolworths on Montague Road (3 min in car, 5 min by bus or 30 min walk), however, we recommend our local and lively markets at West End (Davies Park) Markets every Saturday morning from 7am - 3pm. Fantastic live music and local produce. We are also located close to two hospitals, parks, the river, and the major universities which are a 30 minute walk, 10 minute by bus or 5 minute by bicycle away. Across the road and down the hill slightly is a great cafe called 'Vvaldmeer' for strong coffee and a great brunch (we recommend eggs with greens and bacon), and a bit further down is a cafe/bar called 'Lucky Duck' which is a super fun and relaxed place for a Friday night beverage. Cleaning services are not provided so we ask you to keep the apartment and balconies clean, neat, and tidy. Cleaning supplies will be provided. We also have a stick vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket, iron and ironing board for your use. Welcome to our little home, and please feel free to reach out with any queries you might have. Comments: Smoking allowed on the balconies only. Please be mindful of our neighbours.
Plants will require watering and general light maintenance. We can provide instructions, but generally check if soil is dry. If soil is dry then a light drink of water for the plants please. Every 3-5 days.. No high heels on the wooden floor please.

Comments: A beautiful spiral staircase leads you to the upstairs balcony and an outdoor seating area with fairy lights. The downstairs balcony has a Weber BBQ. PLEASE NOTE: there is no TV set in the apartment as we watch TV on our laptops.
