Who Are We?

For scholars by scholars.

When she created SabbaticalHomes.com in 2000, founder Nadege Conger envisioned the website as a way for scholars to connect, arrange affordable housing and find trustworthy tenants. Today, SabbaticalHomes.com is still run by the founder and a creative team of hard-working, enthusiastic and diverse individuals.

This thriving hub of home and tenant listings is a unique resource with a trusted community. As the leading international directory for academic home rentals, home exchanges, house sitting, and home sharing opportunities, SabbaticalHomes makes it possible for Minds on the Move to live, work and stay all over the world. Most home listings are available furnished to ease the transition of relocating, going on leave or traveling. Search our website to find the perfect home or tenant!

Fifteen years experience of Sabbaticalhomes.com

We have been using Sabbaticalhomes.com to rent out our top floor flat for over 15 years and have had both couples and singletons, who have stayed longer or shorter periods (we ask for at least 6 months but most have stayed longer). Some have become long-term friends, others just civilized acquaintances. So far, we have not had to try and eject anyone. The secret of success is not only to work with Sabbaticalhomes (friendly, reasonable in price and efficient) but also to do very thorough checks of potential tenants ourselves in advance with virtual or real meetings and maximum use of referees. We have a few clearly conveyed house rules (after all this is our house) especially around security which we send in advance, and which are always considered reasonable.
