Luxury for 2 people in the Marais - easy walk everywhere!

We are a couple. One (age: 60) worked as a distributor of design furniture and is in the process of selling the business and retiring. The other was an antiques / painting dealer. We both had our own businesses. We love to travel....and in France we can get very long periods away....and have been to lots of destinations in Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. We love to cook.....so the appartment is full of everything for cooking....and it is also near 2 typical French street market and so there is no need to ever want to go to a restaurant. We also love cultural activities...which is a great reason to live in Paris...and so normally have an opera and a theatre subscription, plus buy tickets from time to time. This apartment is 5 minutes walk from 3 cinemas with about 15 screens....all show pretty much "art films", and they are always subtitled in France so it can be OK for English-speakers quite often. Because we get out often, there is no TV....we watch the news on the computer. Since one of us sold furniture, you can be sure that the quality of the furniture is all very high. You can sit 8 people on the extendible table if you do have guests. The laundry room has window to help drying. But there is no specific dryer, nor elevator (this is France!) The bed is very comfortable We love Japan, have been many times (from Iriomote to Hokkaido), including renting an apartment for a month in Kyoto, and one of us has been studying Japanese for about 4 years. My reason to want to go to Japan is mostly to improve Japanese language skills. But also because we love Japanese people, landscapes, culture, food, lifestyle...etc! Kyoto would be our first choice, since we like the city and its culture, and its so easy to get around. But we are reasonably flexible both on location in Japan and on the dates for us to travel in 2022. But if you want to rent Paris for a while right now, or in 2022, its fine - as we can rent/exchange now and travel later. Since one of us sold "designer" furniture, you can be sure that the quality of the furniture in the Paris apartment is very high. You can sit 8 people on the extendible table if you do have guests. The center of Paris is actually fairly small, and we go practically everywhere with an (electric) bike. We can let you use these 2 bikes whilst you are here. But you can walk to Pompidou (20 mins), the Louvre (30 minutes), the Photo Museum (10 minutes). The Marais is one of the most typical neighbourhoods in the center of Paris, with small streets, interesting shops and art galleries, and many restauraunts. All of Paris is easily accessible by foot or bike. Its very easy to get out of Paris also from the appartment. With one change you can get directly to CDG airport, and 2 changes to Orly Airport The Gare de Lyon is 1 metro stop away if you want to leave by train to the south (or hire a car).
