Tucked away in Clinton Estates, this spacious (1350 sq ft), fully-furnished architectural gem offers the perfect retreat from the city bustle. Yet, it boasts easy access to Berkeley, San Francisco, and Marin County, whether it is via BART, AC Transit, or freeway. You will enjoy your own private room downstairs spacious room with full access to the shared amenities in our generous two-story house. The house is an expression of the famous Charles MacGregor style vintage, playful, and charming. The spacious room measures 14 feet by 12 feet with a large closet, desk, and bookshelf for your use. The room has a full size bed with a firm mattress and its full bathroom. We live upstairs and rarely use the downstairs bathroom. However, it is only 90% yours alone. The home features hardwood floors and abundant large windows to let in natural light. The decor is composed of Mediterranean furniture art and memorabilia. The comfortable living room offers up a feast of books for those inclined to read and a piano for the melodic at heart. Our large dine-in kitchen is fully equipped for your culinary needs, including granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a bounty of spices sure to inspire any chefs imagination. There is also a formal dining room to enjoy your meals in if you desire. The home offers two full bathrooms, one on each floor. The Guest Room has its own newly-renovated bathroom, including a full shower lined with earth rock tiles. Please note that we use the toilet every once in a while. The house is also equipped with superfast wireless commercial Comcast Blast service for your internet needs. As this is a shared residence, and if we're home we will be will be present during your stay. You will share the common living spaces and we all will be respectful of your space and privacy. My service dog and myself (aka "we") have traveled extensively for research and fun and enjoy rooming with guests and hosts. I am a published author and devout yogi, an ardent explorer of symphony halls, remote beaches and mountain ranges across the globe. The Berkeley-San Francisco Bay Area is one of my homes, and I cherish its people, cultures, and sublime vistas. Our location is safe, as the house is situated in a quiet neighborhood with ample parking. From here you are primed to get anywhere in the Bay Area, as we are located a few blocks away from the BART that takes you into San Francisco, Berkeley and Oakland. The house is also a short walk from the 72 Bus that runs along San Pablo Ave. through Richmond, El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, to Old Town Oakland. For drivers, the house is a short distance from Interstate-80 and 580. Closer to home, there is beautiful hiking and biking in the East Bay parks where you can catch prime views of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. You are welcome to bring your bike along to enjoy the scenic vistas. A ten minute walk away is the famous Catahoula Coffee roastery, and on San Pablo Ave., you will have your pick of different international cuisines. On my block is a beautiful public park with tennis and basketball courts, a soccer field and a playground. You are sure to enjoy this unique location unencumbered by the dense fog of San Francisco. Please note as well that the monthly cleaning fees for your room and your share in cleaning the shared spaces of the house is $187. Our fastidious, fabulous house-keeper charges $35/h. These are San Francisco Bay Area going rates for professional cleaners on a livable income. The cleaning includes your room and the common spaces every other week. The bedding and towels are also changed twice a month. Guests staying over a week are required to launder their bed-sheet and towels.
