sunny and cozy 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house 1.5 miles from U.C. Berkeley

Our home is cozy and welcoming. It is perfect for couples or families with 2-3 children. Light filled, with a peaceful garden in the back, you can enjoy your morning coffee or a book on the deck. Our back room den is the perfect place to cuddle up and watch a movie on our 50 inch screen t.v. The cozy front living room with its gas fireplace is loaded with board games for children and families, and tons of legos. People watchers will love to sit on our front stoop and observe the action. Our house is the gateway to everything amazing about the Bay Area. A short 5 minute walk takes you to the subway to San Francisco. Foodies --walking 10 minutes will take you to Berkeley's "gourmet ghetto" and its delicious cheeses, breads, and the famous California Chez Panisse bistro. World famous and beautiful U.C. Berkeley and all it has to offer is only a 10 minute bike ride away. Hike Tilden Park's 39 miles of trails, or drive out to the beach, Muir Woods, Mount Tam, or Golden Gate Bridge. Enjoy the Bay Area for its beauty and culture with easy access. Our neighborhood offers plenty of opportunities for young children too - with the Oakland Zoo, the Tilden Park Little Farm, and multiple playgrounds and play spaces nearby.

About Me
I am an Associate Professor of 20th Century U.S. History, with a focus on Civil Rights, the American West, education, political economy, and law. am currently working on book entitled From School Bus to Google Bus: A New Politics, a New Economy, and the Rise of a New Gilded Age, which examines the relationship between the new (post-industrial, high technology) economy and the new (post-New Deal, post-Great Society, bipartisan neoliberal) politics from the late 1960s through the late 1980s and how they contributed to the rise of the New (or Second) Gilded Age, as it would come to be known. My wife is a human rights lawyer with expertise in global child migration. We have two children, ages 11 and 8. Although my wife travels internationally with frequency, this will be our family's first overseas trip. We hope to go to Israel for 4-5 weeks over the summer so we can introduce our children to their family, their family history, and the rich and complex histories and cultures in Israel and Palestine.
