Dillinger House is a comfortable, fully furnished, 1953 mid-century cinder block home in the Altadena foothills (designed by noted architect Ken Gordon) appropriate for professionals requiring extended stay accommodations. Located off a private road in the quiet, semi-rural Chaney Trail neighborhood on the boundary of Angeles National Forest where there is hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trail access and parkland adjacent. ~2 miles from JPL and close to Caltech & Pasadena; accessible to many other areas. Beautiful views, excellent birding, & relatively dark skies. The home has 3 bedrooms and a study (though one bedroom is currently configured as a 2nd office + there is a twin-size sleeper sofa in the study for guests); oak hardwood floors with radiant heat, dining room with 1890 oak table, large fireplace, living room, some antiques. It is completely furnished including all major & small appliances, dinnerware (including sets of fine old bone china & crystal), utensils, pots/pans, cooking spices, tea & coffee, natural cotton bed linens, quilts & down comforters, towels, office desk (including supplies & a working manual typewriter), a selection of books, field guides & local maps, vintage game sets & chess, etc. TV, DVD, DISH satellite service (with NASA TV), Bose wave radio/CD player; vintage console wi-fi & turntable; central A/C; solar panel system. House kept as chemical-free as possible. Organic garden, flowers, fruit trees, some herbs; patio dining, small charcoal BBQ, bird bath & feeders. Garage + additional off-street (private) parking next to home. All necessities included, just bring your own toothbrush & clothes.
