About Me
I am the Director of Pedagogy and Practice at the Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning at Harvard University. I am trained as a Renaissance Historian and specialize in Early Modern Spain. Before coming to the Bok Center, I was an assistant professor of History at Princeton. I received my AB, AM, and PhD from Harvard, as well as my MSt from the University of Oxford. My family and I have spent significant amounts of time living in Madrid while on research trips. Because of this experience, we decided to rent the first floor unit of our two-family home to academics on sabbatical in the Boston area. We have tried to make it a comfortable place for people away from home.
