Handsome studio near GU, GWU, GMU -- w/pool, gym, Rosslyn metro.

Handsome, fully furnished studio just across the Potomac River from D.C.'s trendy Georgetown shopping, restaurant, and entertainment district.

The apartment lies in a cosmopolitan, resort-like, gated community about five minutes' walk from the Rosslyn metro station -- one stop from DC. It's a highly convenient hub of three subway lines and no less than 16 bus routes.

In addition, a splendid, inexpensive D.C. "Connector" bus shuttles to Georgetown and to the Dupont Circle area, the heart of DC's intellectual life. Nearby are the Brookings Institution, Center for Strategic & International Studies, German Marshall Fund, Johns Hopkins SAIS, and other top think tanks, schools, and international financial institutions.

The studio features gleaming bamboo hardwood floors, built-in bookcases, wall-mounted 43" Smart TV, walk-in closet, individual Wi-Fi network, full kitchen with granite counter top, four-burner gas stove, microwave and dishwasher; updated bath. Linens and kitchenware are provided. The utilities -- electricity, gas, water, trash removal -- also are all included in the rent, along with the individual Wi-Fi network.

The setting: the iconic red-brick River Place South building in the close-in neighborhood of Rosslyn, Arlington's gateway to D.C. River Place features leafy, campus-like grounds with its own 10,000+ square-foot gym, a concierge in its ski chalet-like lobby, resort-style pool with lap lanes, Zen-like hot whirlpool in rock garden setting, free fitness classes, on-site grocery, dry cleaner/tailor, hair salon/spa. It's but one metro stop to D.C.'s Foggy Bottom metro or a short, 15-minute stroll over the Key Bridge to Georgetown.

Also included in the turn-key deal are free use of the gym, fitness classes, pool, sauna, steam room and other River Place amenities.

Jim's place is absolutely ideal for anyone looking to stay and work in D.C. for an extended period of time. In my situation, I have a fellowship at the Library of Congress, and his apartment is perfect. I take the Rosslyn Metro stop on the Orange/Silver/Blue metro line straight to the Capitol South metro stop. The building has a gym, parking (for a reasonable extra fee), and a friendly door person keeping on eye on everything (the building is super secure). The complex itself has a huge pool, barbershop, mini-mart, and dry cleaners. The studio size is perfect and has central heating or cooling. Jim recently installed a new smart tv. He is also super receptive to any issues that might arise. If this isn't enough, the walk to the metro stop has numerous reasonable and satisfying food options if you need to pick up breakfast or lunch. Having been to D.C. a few times now, I realize that where you stay greatly shapes your experience, that is why I am extremely grateful to Jim for his accommodations. He is also a great person to get to know. So, if you have the opportunity to stay at one of his units, don't hesitate! Excellent JP 10/11/2019 9:23:00 AM
