Ideal location in Austin Texas

2 BR, 2 Bath condo in the BEST (biased) location in Austin. We love our space and location. We think you will too. Comfortable bedroom (king bed and up-and-down black-out shades for summer days) and office/relax space or second BR (but we think it's best for 2 people). Super comfortable LR off the open kitchen. Central air, TV with cable and Roku in both living area and BR for days when binging may be the only option. Open kitchen with large island for comfortable cooking or eat-in dining (Restaurant Row literally outside your door.) Patio for a drink or dinner if the weather is agreeable. Walk downstairs and in a quarter of a mile you're on the trail around Lake Austin. Unlimited exercise and/or walking possibilities. Less than a mile by foot to Barton Springs (68 degree year-round temperature), the treasure of Austin, especially in the summer months.

Our complex offers 24 hour concierge service and a secure garage with 2 parking spaces if needed. On premises there is a pool with a grill and tables, multiple other grill locations around the property (closest to you is under the pecan tree out your window) and rooftop decks for entertaining. We are located a 15 minute walk to Whole Foods HQ and Trader Joes via a great walking bridge over the lake. 25 minute walk to the heart of downtown: restaurants, happy hours, movie theaters (Violet Crown and Alamo Drafthouse), 6th Street music venues, shopping; easy bus to the Domain for all things consumable. (All of course minutes if you drive.) BTW, we are less than a 10 minute drive or short bike ride to UT. If you stay through October, we are a 5 minute walk from the ACL location, Zilker Park (also the location for Blues on the Green once a month during the summer). Unbelievable access! No parking or traffic hassles! Walk out the door to incredible music history! So many easy ways to enjoy all Austin has to offer.

About Me
Miriam and I have lived and raised 3 daughters in or around NYC from 1975 to 2015. We started out in the West Village, Chinatown and Tribeca, took a long vacation in NJ and Westchester to raise our daughters, and moved back to the far Upper West Side and Astoria once our girls were gone, where we owned a co-op before we moved to Austin to be near our oldest daughter (a pediatrician who moved to Austin in 2009) and 3 of our 6 grandchildren. I retired in 2015 from a career in the legal industry and Miriam and I continue to develop an online marketing business. I somehow determined to travel around the world while in high school, which I did from 1970-1972, driving from Germany to Kathmandu, spending 6 months in India and Nepal, meeting Miriam (who had traveled to India from a totally different direction) and developing a life-long attraction to the Himalayas. After meeting in Kashmir in 1971, Miriam and I traveled extensively as well as living in Portugal for a year before settling down in the US in 1975 to have kids. After the seemingly requisite time-out mentioned above from traveling to raise our children, we spent a month in Firenze in 2016, a month in Israel to reconnect with Miriam's family, a month return to Lisboa and Oporto in 2017 and are currently planning to take our family to the Chianti region this summer. I also traveled to Antartica in 2012 and am planning a trip to Everest Base Camp in 2019. We continue to travel the US at every opportunity and spend time on the Jersey shore, my wife's "happy place.". We try to travel at least once a year back to NYC, especially to attend as many NY Philharmonic or Mostly Mozart concerts as we can fit in. We have a hang loose lifestyle and in terms of our place, we are looking for good caretakers, who will treat our place like they would their own, and enjoy their time in Texas. We don't think there is a more ideal location in Austin than ours (and we love our relatively new home), but definitely don't want to talk anyone into living in Austin for 6 months during the hotter months. If it's right it's right and if you want or need to be in Austin for an extended period of time, and agree with the climate, we don't think you could find a better opportunity than here at Barton Place. Happy travels, Keith & Miriam
